About Bethany
I chose to practice Iyengar yoga because of the transformative effects it has on the mind, body and nervous system.
I have been trained by Iyengar teachers in the UK and regularly attends classes with teachers in India who are among the first generation of yoga teachers trained by BKS Iyengar.
I love how the practice of bringing awareness to the body via the different asanas, in turn stills the mind and brings a sensitivity to one’s experience of the world.
I also hugely values the inclusiveness of Iyengar yoga - no matter who you are, the poses can be adapted through the use of props or by approaching the poses in a different way.

About Iyengar Yoga
Iyengar Yoga is methodical and progressive, emphasising alignment in the body and safety.
Props like bricks, blankets, belts and bolsters are used when needed so that all students can benefit, progress in their practice of postures safely at their own pace, to support their body and get the most out of the asana and the practice.
Iyengar yoga can help improve health, alleviate postural/structural problems, bring clarity to the mind and body and help you to connect to your breath.
Iyengar yoga teachers practice for at least three years before being recommended to become a teacher and then train for at least three years before qualifying.
